Cooking in the kitchen

After a beautiful weekend, it was a shock to wake up to torrential rain. Rory and I made the best of it and headed to the bookshop where he picked up a vinyl construction sticker scene. Once at home, he was kept occupied with this whilst I did a spot of cooking. We got delicious doughnut peaches from the CSA last week which I hadn’t got around to using, so I made a peach compote to have with our granola. I also soaked, cooked and roasted some chickpeas in olive oil, salt, pepper and rosemary for a healthy snack. Luckily the weather cheered up in the afternoon so we met up with friends at the park for some much needed fresh air. O and I are watching Bate’s Motel (for his work research purposes) which is a prequel series to the film Psycho. Scary stuff.
