The Peacock at Rowsley

Mum very kindly agreed to look after Rory for a couple of days to allow O and I to go off for some alone time. We chose a gorgeous local gem of a hotel in The Peak District called The Peacock at Rowsley. The service was impeccable (hot toddy greets you when you arrive, afternoon tea served in your room after a walk, sheets turned down with a delicious chocolate etc.). After an explore of the very picturesque village and craft mill we decided to have a long leisurely lunch in the pub. Then we took advantage of some quiet time by relaxing in our room, reading and having an afternoon nap – bliss. Supper was a formal affair in the dining room where the six course menu was exquisite but very filling. A lovely day with my favorite man.
