Today O, Rory and I perused around the shops in SoHo and Nolita before heading to lunch at Uncle Henry’s new apartment. We were all very impressed with the interiors and the delicious lunch and awarded him with delicious cupcakes from Billy’s, who have opened around the corner on Elizabeth Street.
This afternoon O, Rory and I explored the beautiful area of Brooklyn Heights. It reminds me a lot of England as many of the buildings are low, old brownstones and all of the streets are tree lined. We stopped off for afternoon tea at the lovely Iris Café and then lusted after lots of stylish goodies from Design Within Reach. We treated ourselves to a lovely coat rack to complete our new hallway. That evening we entertained the gorgeous Mel & Joe and O’s brother, Henry. A very late, but wonderful evening.
Today O and I left Rory in the very capable hands of Granny M and headed to my cousin James’ wedding. Luckily the sun was shining (somewhat unusual for a British wedding) and the whole day was superb. The bride looked beautiful and the rest of the family scrubbed up rather well too. A lovely church service, great food, lots of chat, laughing, singing and dancing until late. All in all a great wedding.
